A Courtyard House In Mavrikiano
House Efterpi is a stone courtyard house in Mavrikiano, positioned below House Kalliopi. It accommodates up to five guests and suits travellers who want a private courtyard, an outdoor kitchen, and a traditional interior layout rather than a broad open view.
The Interior Layout
The 55 m² house is arranged around the private courtyard and the ontas, the traditional raised sleeping area.
From the village path, the main gate is located between the gate of House Kalliopi on the right and the entrance of House Demetra on the left. After entering the gate, a few steps lead down to the private courtyard, where the main outdoor kitchen is located. The entrance to the house is on the left side of the courtyard.
Inside, the living room is directly ahead, with two single sofa beds and a low rectangular wooden table. On the right side, there is another single bed, a small kitchenette, and an internal wooden stair leading up to the ontas, which forms the main bedroom area. The bathroom is opposite the wooden stair, on the same level as the living room.
Courtyard And Outdoor Kitchen
The private courtyard is the main outdoor space of Efterpi. It includes the main outdoor kitchen, barbecue, and outdoor sitting area, giving the house a sheltered village-house feeling for meals at home and quiet time outside.
Access And Pairing
Shared private guest parking is nearby, with space for up to 5 cars in total; if the shared parking area is full, guests can usually park for free around the village. The house is not step-free: guests enter through the main gate and go down a few steps to the courtyard, and the ontas is reached by an internal wooden stair.
Efterpi can be considered with House Kalliopi above for larger groups that want nearby but separate houses.
