Location
Two villages on the hillside above Elounda, northeast Crete.
Mavrikiano
A small traditional village perched on the hillside above Elounda town. The ten stone houses are located here, spread along the village lanes. The village is quiet, with no tourist infrastructure of its own — restaurants, shops, and beaches are a short drive down to Elounda.
Most of the houses have open views toward Elounda Bay and the island of Spinalonga, with the Mirabello Gulf beyond.
Vrouchas
Located above and slightly inland from Mavrikiano, Vrouchas is a quieter hillside village. Villa Almyra is situated here, with panoramic views across Elounda Bay, Spinalonga, and the full sweep of the Mirabello Gulf. The approach road is steep and narrow in places — standard passenger cars are suitable.

Getting here
By car (recommended)
A rental car is the most practical option. The E75 and regional roads connect Heraklion and Sitia airports to the Elounda area. Detailed directions and GPS coordinates are sent with your booking confirmation.
By bus
KTEL buses run between Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos; local buses connect Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. The Elounda bus stop is at the bottom of the hill — a taxi or walk uphill is needed from there.
Taxis
Taxis are available from both airports and from Agios Nikolaos. We can provide local taxi contact information on request.
